The pied piper

The Montana children's theater came to town the other week as they do each year. They hold auditions for a play. This year there were about 130 kids and 50 are picked to be in the production. Zephy chickened out at audition but Sheradia got to be a rat. They had practice everyday after school for 2 hours then on Saturday they had a 2 hour dress rehearsal and 1.5 hour performance in the afternoon and one in the evening. I thought Sheradia would tire of the long week and the excitement would wear off but she loved every minute of it. Here are a few shots of the cast, the rats and out little star!. She is #10 from right in first photo. far right in back row on second.

feeding the deer

Scott and I had fun chucking old apples at the deer on the property this weekend. We got a laugh as they would look up into the sky and watch the apple almost knock them on the head. We wondered if they were color blind when latter after eating red apples they came 10 feet away from where Scott was working to have a look at his red cord.

Sidding goes on and on and on

THis weekend we started to put up siding an exciting! The color came out grayer than it was ment to be. Our fascia was suppose to be more of a dark brown than black and the siding was suppose to be more greenish tan that the gray. And the shakes I am now staining (by hand I might add) are a darker tan then ment to be. But all in all I think the colors are coming together nicely. Scott did a good job in picking them out. We did want the house to blend in so dark does that well. The top of the boards is where the shakes will go (they are the same color as the T&G soffit) and the spots left under is where we will put cultured rock in the spring.

black eye

Zephy got a black eye when she was running from someone chasing her on the playground at school and not looking where she was going ran into a girl who was jump roping. The girls tooth cut the edge of her eye. This was taken the next day. It actually got a bit darker than that. Then a couple days latter at Fall Festival she got a bloody nose and then as we were coming home her sister smacked her in the forehead with the car door and gave her a little bruise there. Then the next day as they were out ridding their bikes Zephy who was in front fell off her bike and Sheradia not having any time to stop ran over her ear! When she came in the house crying and told me what happened i couldn't help but laugh! What a bizzar thing to happen! Anyway that is my little Tom Girl!

fall festival

Here are the girls with their dear friend Veronica at fall festival. Something that was started at out church as a way to take back Halloween and give the glory back to God. It has grown so much in the 5 years we have been there that last year we moved it to the school gym. This year that were about 400 there! WOW!

What an amazing chance to witness to the community. WE have lots of carnival games where you get a ticket and you can trade your tickets in for great prizes! There is a cake walk. Free dinner (hot dog, chips, and drink) And at the end of the night we have a Salvation message drama and then the kids line up and go outside to Trunk-r-treat (where all the cars line up and open the trunks and decorate them in a theme and hand out candy to the kids). I thought it was a great success this year!

Zephy got a bloody nose when she tripped on the cake walk. She had me so scared as it was just pouring out like a faucet. I have never seen someone do that before that bad! She was screaming and she hit so hard I was afraid she either broke her nose or knocked her front teeth loose but she did neither! Scott took her home to clean her up and get changed and she insisted she come back to the party!

Fall Festival

The girls picked some costumes from moms store. One for the School halloween parties and one for Fall Festival that night. Here are some shots of Zephys cat girl and Sheradias Snow white and the class parties I got to go back and forth to.

I thought it was funny that Sheradia picked two princes costumes and Zephy got 4 animal costumes. Scott and I laughed as she tried them on. of course there is the cat girl, a pink bunny, a dog, and a chicken.

Lessons

Here are a few shots from the horse lessons. They can both ride by themselves now and still enjoy the lessons.

part 2

Another zip bong photo. One of part of the amazing worship. The kids were so thankful to arrive safely with Scooters driving they were kissing the ground. The conference was amazing as usual and we were all touched and changed but this year I would have to say my favorite part is leaving the motel at midnight with a car full of teens and going into town. ( I hope I don't get fired for this!) We ended up going to the park and sneaking up on sleeping ducks! Talk about serious fun! and ducks have a surprising sense of hearing. I won't say what time we got back to the motel but I can say I haven't laughed that much in a very long time!

youth trip

This ones for you Ben! A couple of weekends ago we took the youth kids to a conference for the weekend. Here are a few snap shots of lunch time. And hey, who is that strapping young man with the big muscle? Then one from the game we call Zip- Bong. A game where you say zip or bong to the person next to you without showing your teeth.
