Bday

Zephy Bday

The girls helped to make Zephys Bday cupcakes. Raindeer and snowman. We then went to the bowling alley and had pizza before they came home with us for a sleepover. It went well and they had a great time.

Dresses

Another tradition would be that each year the girls get a new Christmas dress from Nana. So here are the girls in this years dresses. And a photo of Sheradia in a coat that I wore some 20 years ago at her age. I wasn't as cute in it though.

Decorating the house

The tree all done. And the girls peeking through the stairs. The School Christmas program. You can see Zephy well. Sheradia is in the next one on the back row with a hat and scarf.

Another tradition

We always get one of these kits for the girls each year. Dad helped again (yeah!).

Christmas Tree hunting.

Scott just loves this tradition. I think he got it this time after I rejected his suggestions on a number of trees he finally realised his part in this is to drive slow and let me find it. Then he gets to cut it down for me and drag it back to the car and load it. -ha ha! I think we got a good one though. Sheradia took this photo of us on the bank.

Parade of lights

After the luminary walk we went over to see the Parade of Lights. Small this year but just as fun. Santa comes in on the fire truck. Then we all gather at the park where we warm ourselves by a fire and listen to live singing of Christmas carols and buy popcorn and hot chocolate. Kids line up to see santa and we wait for the lighting of the town Christmas tree. Its a time we enjoy and this year it wasn't too cold or too much snow to make it unpleasant. This is mom on the walk.

Luminaries

Every year in our little town they have a memory walk for those who have passed. We went down this year to the Riverwalk and walked this lane of luminaries before joining in the other festivities. At school some of the kids made some of these. Zephy did hers for Jesus and Sheradia had two sides to hers. One side for her cat and the other for Mike (He played Cello in the worship team at church and last year was killed in a car crash).

Zephys room

I wanted to get photos of each room in the house now that it is near completion but I guess this is as far as it goes now. I missed a couple photos of this room I will have to post later. Zephy also put Christmas Lights around her room as you can see.

Sheradias room

The girls cleaned their rooms top to bottom and I thought it was a good chance to get some photos of the house. Well I only got these two rooms so here they are. We have since put closet doors on Sheradias but you get the idea.

Then Its play time

For the rest of the day on Thanksgiving we play board games and xbox games. We all got into Band hero. Here is Scooter playing it out on the drums, myself trying out the guitar and Scooter singing his heart out. Then papa gets a workout.

What we do on Thanksgiving

We went to Spokane to spend Thanksgiving with my brother and his family this year as we usualy do. Mom and Dad were there as well. A few shots of the table being set for the big feast. You can see who is sure to be first at the table. Sheradia and her cousin Justin wait as well. Mom and my sister-in-law Julie get a few last minute things ready. Then what do we do after stuffing ourselves full and having lots of laughs around the table? Well you can see here Dad demonstrating that very well. Everyone heads for a comfy spot where we take a nap till dinner time and then it is time for the left overs!

The buck

Every ones got to get a photo with the buck. Even if they are still in their pajamas! The girls watched dad gut him out for a while. Fascinated with what it all looks like inside. They left when it got too bloody and Dads arms were gooey and red up to his elbows.

The big Hunt

Scooter has been hunting a bit looking for an elk this year. This morning as he was starting the fire he spotted a buck on our property. He took a shot not thinking he got it the way it took off running up the hill but he and Sheradia went for a walk to have a look anyway. Scooter found the blood and followed the trail to where he lay dead. Sheradia spotted two more smaller bucks. They came back for the truck to bring him back. Sheradia was very excited.
