A date

This Friday the girls Wednesday night teacher at church had a girls sleepover full of fun! So Scott and I went out. At first we were not going to do anything as after Scott puts in long hours on a Friday all he wants to do is eat and go to bed. I have had this idea for a date for a while but we have lots of wild fires around here making the air so thick with smoke it would have made this date worthless but around noon I realized the wind was blowing the smoke the other way for a change so I quickly threw together a picnic and when Scott got home he was blind folded until we got into the woods and I drove him up to this spot. It was so cool! It is called Woods Ranch and is an old homestead where they planted orchards way up on this mountain side. For some reason the ranch was abandoned and the land is now government owned.

The first photo is of the 6 bucks we spotted on the way up there. I have never seen that many bucks together in the same spot before so that was a special treat. We also saw a bull and cow elk on the way out! The second photo is of one of the bigger fires going on. We see this mushroom cloud of smoke everyday from our house. Then one of Scott under the apple tree enjoying the views and then Scott had to get one of us together.

We had a wonderful time! Thanks Theresa for allowing us this date!

That is so so romantic!!! It sounds/looks so wonderful over there. Every day I think about you guys and the idea of what we could have done. Never mind - there will come a time when we can come over for a holiday at least. That probably won't be until we sell the house but who knows what will happen eh. We seem to be of the nomadic makings. Although I have to admit it's nice that the girls are still at the same school. I always found that bit a bit hard when a child travelling around.
