Guatamala

I just got back yesterday from a trip to Guatemala with my folks. Here are some photos and stories about the trip. This is mom and I waiting for breakfast. All the houses and shops and things are right on the street and all look the same as you can see. most leave their door closed so when we came back to the motel or went to eat or go shopping you have to knock on the door and they will let you in. They are shaped in a square. Traditionally 4 houses make up a block and when you go through the door into the foyer it opens to a courtyard in the inside. all the rooms are off the courtyards with covered sidewalks bordering them. IF the house has been turned into a restaurant the tables are lined on the interior sidewalk like this. Typical breakfast is eggs, black beans, and fried bananas. Also photo here is the clay roofs most have flowers growing on them. They say they are weeds but I think it looks nice.
