When I was little a favorite movie for me was the Secret garden (the original - I don't like the new remakes of it) So maybe it was this or just because I often feel I need to get a way and be on my own before I go crazy. As a child when I was upset or needed space I would jump on my bike and ride back through the woods behind our house to a spot where I could sit against a tree and look far below to a small rambling river and the mountains beyond. Often I would see deer drinking from the water below.
I have been so excited to create a space in the trees at our place where I can 'escape' to. I call it my secret place (i don't know why because I keep showing people where it is! Silly me) So today as I went to help Scott he had a youth kid there and I worked with them for a couple hours till lunch and then they ran out of stuff for me to do so I took rakes, shovels, and some plants mom gave me (that the deer won't eat because they smell too strong like the herbs or they are poisonous to eat) and set off to work on my spot. Here are some before shots and the heavy game trail (that's deer and elk to you kiwis) that leads almost to it. In the last photo you can see the house in the back ground so you see how far away it is. Not very but just enough.
